💔 Heartbreaking Exit: Kate Mansi Leaves General Hospital Forever!

General Hospital (GH) spoilers note that Kate Mansi has quit GH, deciding to exit and NOT renew her contract playing the role of Kristina Corinthos.

The Daytime Emmy winner announced she was leaving the ABC soap to the SoapSteph’s Soap Dish newsletter.

Mansi joined GH in May 2023 as the Kristina recast, taking over from Lexie Ainsworth, who had played the character on and off since 2009.

According to the report, Mansi stated the decision to not renew her three-year contract with General Hospital was her own, and due to travel.

Mansi’s hubby, Producer Matt McInnis, is currently on a television series that is shooting overseas.

In addition, Mansi added that the choice to leave the ABC soap was quite “difficult”, also stating that she will now have the time to focus on new endeavors she’s working on.

The actress stated that her time on General Hospital was meaningful and an “unforgettable ride,” adding that, “it feels like the right time for both Kristina and me to step into new adventures.”

GH’s EP, Frank Valentini, also chimed in, saying the show supports Mansi’s decision, and the door is always open if she wants to come back.

It sounds like Kristina will likely leave storylines, with no recast in sight.

It’s important to note that Mansi has already wrapped up filming in April, so fans can expect to see her on canvas until about June.

The actress started in the land of daytime drama when she debuted on Days of Our Lives, playing Abigail Deveraux DiMera from 2011 to 2016, exiting for two years, and then returning to the role from 2018 to 2020.

During her tenure at DOOL, she scored two Daytime Emmy awards in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category.
