Kelly Monaco returns to the screen via DWTS’ 20th anniversary special
Kelly Monaco, the actress who won season 1 of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, returned to the network on Tuesday. Initially making her debut on the network with her role as Olivia in Port Charles, she soon went on to join the cast of General Hospital as Sam McCall. 21 years later, in August 2024, Monaco announced her exit from GH. Her departure stirred considerable drama, after which she appeared to retreat from the spotlight.
However, fans were delighted to see Monaco return to the network in an appearance on DWTS’s 20th Anniversary celebration episode. She sat in the audience with other former DWTS contestants, looking absolutely charming in a sleeveless black dress. One fan posted a picture from the evening on X, writing, “Always love to see a glimpse of Kelly Monaco back on our screens! Now we just need a permanent place on daytime TV! “
Monaco was a contestant on season 1 of Dancing With The Stars alongside Trista Sutter, Rachel Hunter, Evander Holyfield, Joey McIntyre, and John O’Hurley. After winning Season 1, she returned to the show as a contestant on the All-Star season in 2012. This time she made it to the finals again, but finished in third place. In 2017, she returned to the DWTS stage during Season 25 to perform in a trio rumba with Terrell Owens and Cheryl Burke in week 8.
Expressing love for Monaco, another fan shared an image of the actress on DWTS’ 20th anniversary special on X, writing, “There are just no words to best describe the feeling of seeing you again on my screen! I am so happy I could cry. How we’ve missed you.”
